My Krishna

On august 28 it was Janmashtami, an  Indian holiday  for the Indian god Krishna.  Every year the date changes based on the moon calendar.   Krishna’s  birthday was on August 11th and so was my brother’s birthday too. So technically my brother has two birthdays a year, one  on his moon calendar and one where he was born.  So my grandma decided we should make my brother Shay a mini Krishna, it was an interesting process. My grandma wanted it to be a surprise for my mom and dad so she had to go to me to help get the materials.   She first needed a peacock feather and a rubber band that could stretch across my brother’s head.  We did not have any peacock feathers so I printed one out.  The next thing she needed a flute, I did not have a flute. Though my grandma thought I did because I had this wooden stick from a whiteboard and I colored it to look like a flute so she took it and a musical instrument; recorder. After that my mom and dad found it so they pitched in to help. My grandma found an orange scarf of mine. My grandma has extra yellow cloth and when she used safety pins it turned it into pants. My grandma looked through my old jewelry and found a few things she liked. And then we found a small red square scarf. Around 5:30 we were getting my brother ready. First we tied the orange scarf and my brother looked like a warrior. Then the orange pants were on then my grandma stuck a cardboard behind the feather so it was so drooping. We took a rubber band put on his forehead and slid the feather in. Then we took a string and tied it to his arms and then the jewelry. During this process my most favorite bracelet broke. I cried but I got it fixed. Soon it was time for the photo shoot and my brother was smiling in every picture.
